We are ISWaS, an interdisciplinary education consultancy working at the intersection of sustainability, education, and interactive technology.

At ISWaS, we believe that climate action and learning should be inspiring, joyful, and deeply human.

Our mission is to spark curiosity, build community, and turn small actions into big change—by using the power of interactive technology, storytelling, and game-based learning.

If you’re a cultural, heritage, educational or community organisation and you’re ready to engage people in new ways, we’re here to bring your learning experiences to life and increase your CSR impact.

We can either:

a) Help you to tell the story of sustainability according to your organisation’s context (e.g. a museum’s focus, an industry, or local area). Whether you need support with a single project or want to transform your approach to engagement and outreach long-term, we’re here to help. From inspiring easy to implement ideas to full immersive worlds - we’re ready to get our huge sloth claws into it all.

b) Visit you with TOGETHER - our touring sustainable play experience for a pop-up event or residency. Check out the full info on the dedicated page.

Let’s co-create a future where learning feels like play, sustainable action feels possible and your people are empowered.

Our framework

So you’ve got your sustainability reports, you have an agenda, maybe you’ve even done some staff training but… what next?

When it comes to implementing eco-action we hear time and time again how organisations feel lost and overwhelmed when it comes to turning their sustainability reports and analysis into meaningful action. You don’t want to be accused of greenwashing, there is SO much you could do, and when it comes to tech… you don’t know what you don’t know. And what even is a carbon tonne anyway?!

It’s an ongoing challenge for cultural and heritage institutions to show their great work in sustainable action, thanks to old buildings that leak heat by the minute, energy intensive environmental conditions needed for conservation, and an infrastructure that doesn’t always support new technological advances. But there are other ways.

That’s where we come in.

We have developed a framework that will help you to bring your sustainability agenda to life through a 3 step process:

IDEATE > COMMUNICATE > ACTIVATE

  • A young girl adds to a collaborative future about the future vision she wants to create

    IDEATE

Bring your sustainability agenda to life by identifying opportunities for stories, engagement and collaborations.

Using our analysis framework, you can work through the process independently with our toolkit or choose to upgrade and get expert support to guide the way.

  • Helen talks to adults at the sustainability play experience about communicating climate matters in a way that engages and isn't doom fille-

    COMMUNICATE

Transform sustainability data and actions into stories that spark curiosity and inspire action.

Our storytelling prompts will help you connect with audiences on an emotional level, turning complex information into messages people care about and remember.

  • A Young boy leaps across the giant eco snakes and ladders game which he's playing with his parents

    ACTIVATE

Empower your team, engage your community, and measure real impact through playful, interactive experiences.

From our own flagship tools, green persona generators, and mapping tools to game design canvases, QR missions, and immersive templates, we can help you develop experiences that make sustainability engaging, participatory, and measurable.

We’ve taken our immersive sustainability experiences on the road!

Our TOGETHER residencies bring sustainable play to life at heritage and cultural institutions, community centres, educational institutions, festivals, and more—turning empty spaces into vibrant hubs of learning, creativity, and collective climate action.

Perfect for one-day events, week-long residencies, or longer installations, these playful pop-ups inspire all ages to imagine and build a better future.
